Baghdad: Bomb assaults killed no less than 21 individuals and injured handfuls all the more on Wednesday in neighborhoods of the Iraqi capital, a police colonel said.
The assaults were the most recent of various especially deadly episodes in Baghdad in under a week.
In the deadliest episode Wednesday, a taxicab bomb killed no less than 16 individuals and injured 30 on an occupied business road in the western region of Bayaa.
A second assault in the northeastern Al-Shaab locale left no less than five dead and 16 hurt.
Police and inside service sources said it was a twofold suicide assault by assailants wearing suicide vests, against a joint police-armed force checkpoint at the passage to Al-Shaab, with the casualties being individuals from the security powers.
