Death Warrant Issued For Shafqat Hussain's Hanging

KARACHI: For the 6th time since he was indicted for homicide, powers on Monday issued dark warrants for the hanging of death column detainee Shafqat Hussain on August 4.
The homicide convict was sentenced to death in 2004 for hijacking and automatic homicide of a seven-year-old kid in 2001. The kid lived in a condo where Shafqat filled in as a security protect.

Perplexity over Shafqat's date of conception brought up issues of whether he was a minor or of legal age in 2004 when he was passed on capital punishment.

An examination by the FIA affirmed that even in prison records, Shafqat Hussain's age was not 14 years at the time he was captured, nor was he less than 18 years old.

Shafqat's capital punishment was later tested in the Preeminent Court, which released the bid.

His execution will now be done at the Karachi Focal Prison on Tuesday, August 4.
