Kano, Nigeria: Eight individuals passed on from breathing in dangerous exhaust on Saturday and in the range of 100 others were hospitalized after an incidental impact hit a water treatment plant close Jos in focal Nigeria, nearby authorities said.
A barrel of chlorine blasted in the Dogon Karfe plant in the south of Jos, discharging dangerous chlorine vapor, provincial representative Samuel Emmanuel Nanle said in an announcement.
Senator Simon Lalong communicated his sensitivity for the groups of the eight casualties, and wished the 101 survivors who were being dealt with in clinic a fast recuperation, the announcement included.
The circumstances of the impact stay indistinct however measures have been taken to "prepare for future reoccurrence" of the occurrence, Nanle said.
The mishap has not influenced the water supply in the zone, the announcement said, including that water from the mains stayed "safe for human utilization". (AFP)
