Cairo: A French warship purchased by Egypt as a component of a multi-billion-dollar safeguard arrangement arrived Friday close Alexandria, official media said, days after Cairo took conveyance of a first group of Rafale warriors.
The multi-mission frigate assembled by French maritime gathering DCNS is Egypt's most recent buy as it looks to help its military capacity notwithstanding insecurity in neighboring Libya and an insurrection in the Sinai Landmass.
Egypt purchased the 6,000-ton vessel in February alongside 24 Rafale warrior flies in an arrangement worth 5.2 billion euros ($5.7 billion).
The authority MENA news organization said Guard Clergyman Sedki Sobhi went to a service for the frigate at Ras el-Tine maritime base, close Alexandria on Egypt's Mediterranean coast.
