10 Killed In Stampede At India Temple

New Delhi: A rush outside a Hindu sanctuary at an early stage Monday killed no less than 10 pioneers in eastern India with others harmed in the pound of up to 150,000 individuals, a cop said. 

The rush at the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga sanctuary in the condition of Jharkhand emitted after pioneers surged towards the building not long after the entryways opened, the officer told AFP. 

Those resting in the kilometers-long line were trampled as others pushed towards the entryways, SN Pradhan, extra executive general of police in Jharkhand, said. 

"Numerous attempted to race to the leader of the line which prompted disarray and as some of them fell, the aficionados got trampled," Pradhan said. 

"Ten individuals including one female aficionado are currently affirmed dead. Another 15 to 20 individuals have gotten wounds," he said. 

Rushes at India's religious celebrations, where a blend of police and volunteer stewards are frequently overpowered by the sheer size of the group, are not unprecedented.
